Grandma gave this afghan to me years ago. I
never thought about how she made it until I started to crochet. Then I realized it
wasn't crocheted in a stitch I knew, and by now I knew it wasn't knitted either.
One day I bought The McCall's Book of Afghans on Ebay.
Was I surprised to open it up and find that the very first photo was the afghan
that Grandma had made! It is called "Border Afghan" and is captioned
"The Ultimate Afghan". The description reads:
A glorious array of border patterns worked from a chart in single crochet and
reverse single crochet creates this unique afghan. Use colors you have on hand,
repeat the patterns you like.
